Do We Know Who Represents Us?
Our goal is to help every Iranian American become better informed about their elected representatives, register to vote, make more informed choices at the ballot box, and become more actively engaged in the political and civic life of the United States, whether as a Republican, Democrat, or independent.
Do we know our members of Congress, senators, or even our local elected officials? Perhaps nine out of ten people would answer “no.” Most of us know only a handful of well known political figures who regularly appear in the news.
IACD intends to create a comprehensive and user friendly database that allows Iranian Americans to easily find their representatives by state and congressional district and learn about their political background, positions, and record.
The database will also document, based on credible and verifiable sources, their positions and voting records concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran, designated terrorist organizations, and issues related to U.S. national security and Iran.
Our goal is to help every Iranian American become better informed about their elected representatives, register to vote, make more informed choices at the ballot box, and become more actively engaged in the political and civic life of the United States, whether as a Republican, Democrat, or independent.
To develop this project, we are looking for people who have a strong understanding of the U.S. political and governmental system, Congress, the Senate, state governments, and local government, and who can systematically research, document, and analyze the records of elected officials state by state.
If you have the knowledge or experience to help us build this project, we would greatly value your contribution.
